Results in 2004 were mixed, very mixed! The league side just managed to stay in Hampshire County Division 4, only securing a place in the division for 2005 when the last game of the season was rained off. But despite this we were competitive in most games, just losing on a number of occasions where we should really have won. We lose one of our best batsmen and captain for the 2004 season as Andy Pearce leaves in the winter for a life in Barbados with Fie. We'll be doing well to stay in County 4 in 2006!
The Sunday side for the second year in a row was well subscribed with a number of new members. Hopefully we can keep on attracting new players of all abilities whilst maintaining a good standard of cricket to make the games enjoyable for all.
Off the field the Dinner Dance was the most successful and well attended for years with around 75 people crammed in to the Village Hall. With a decent profit from this and the Hog Roast with the promise of more sponsorship from Xerox in 2006 the club's coffers, whilst not overflowing, are at least not empty. The new sightscreen seems to have worked well after a few minor adjustments and a second purchase is planned for the 2006 season.
